Observations of behaviour

Today our group was working on mindful presence. With mindful absence, I am afraid. We teachers are sometimes not a tiny bit better than the students we reprimand so often. 5 p.m. in the classroom, 1 person sleeping, 4 people scrolling the screen of their mobiles, there is a phone call and the phone is not muted, Facebook messages are plinking. What we should have been talking about was how not to judge others and ourselves, how not to instinctively react but mindfully respond to stimuli.
